    ny newest....Colt

I used to have an Olympic Arms 9MM AR that used Glock Magazines. It shot ok but at the time it didn't fit into what I collected. Fast Forward 10-11 years and I found this COLT 9MM Flattop at a local gun shop. It was sold as a Consignment but unfired gun. Hopefully tomorrow I'll take care of that. The Optic Reddot is a Vortex SPARC II.

I sure do love Colts! I'm also a fan of Vortex. You have a nice setup there...

I'm not a big Colt fan, I think there are other manufacturers that do a better job but it's what you like so; if you're happy I am.

I am a big Vortex fan. I've that same scope on an LWRC build that has an Anderson lower and the Ruger 452 Elite trigger (for ~$110 you can't beat it). The site is a good one, I've just put another Vortex on the other LWRC build (same lower components) but this Vortex is the Spitfire AR which has an etched reticle (means there's a reticle even when powered off), I've not had it to the range yet (something about 90 degree days with high humidity in the middle of corn fields (where my club is)) that makes me want to stay in the A/C.

FYI, both of the above mentioned Vortex scopes can use Aimpoint mounts. (if you'd like a quick detach etc.) for the $$$$ you can beat Vortex.

OK, guys, . . . y'all got my curious button pushed.

Other than cheap plinking, . . . why would I go over to my LGS and get a 9mm AR?

        May God bless,

Possible ammo commonality with a sidearm (and now there are lowers out there that will take Glock mags, too).

Far easier to suppress, and even when unsuppressed, less recoil and way less noise and blast, especially if you don't get the chance to don ear protection.

But other than that, mostly just the fun factor, with a far more limited range than a standard carbine.

Colts are nice, once you replace their trigger.

I have a Sporter I bought back in the '70's. No fa, just a slick side. 1/7 twist and shoots great and very accurate, even with 55's. but better with 62's.
