    Henry Golden Boy in .22

Finally made it to the range to shoot the postal shoot and get some well needed practice in. I haven't shot at a target in over 3 years....LOL Life happened to very much get in the way.

Here's my practice target for the postal shoot. Nothing to brag about, but pretty OK for not shooting in 3 years.

I'll bet it felt GOOD to get out. Glad you're finally able to burn powder again! Life'll do strange things once in a while. Nice shooting!

I'm not used to v sights. My Henry Big Boy has peep sights which are more suited for me. The other problem I had was the front sight which didn't show up well at all.......

Maybe next time I'll bring the Big Boy in .357 mag out. Can only shoot pistol cartridges at the indoor range.

I'll give you my view point on 22 ammo.

Each brand of 22 ammo will have a completely different dispersal pattern. The secret is finding a brand that works for you and staying with it.

AND recent tests done by 'Guns&Ammo' have shown that non-coated lead bullets will give you the best accuracy against using coated even using the same brand.

Agreed on both points but may I add every Ammo disperses differently in every different rifle, what 10X's in one might group 4" in an identical rifle.
All the finest match 22 available such as Eley , RWS , Lapua , Wolfe , etc use non coated bullets , if a coating made them shoot better they'd have it.
This match ammo costs more but it will shrink your groups substantially ,it's all about uniformity the tiniest difference in brass, powder ,or lead make huge differences [inches] at 100yds .
That being said I buy a couple boxes of most brands and types of what used to be known as "the cheap stuff" , and winnow through them finding the type that that particular rifle likes
to have an affordable plinking round also.
