    M1 Carbine price help needed...

A guy I know called me asking if I am interested in a trade. He is building up a collection of M1 carbines and has 2 NPM carbines and would trade one for my Rockola. Well, I know my carbine is a lot harder to find and can be expensive. My carbine has mostly Rockola parts, barrel, bolt, extractor, trigger housing, operating slide. It has a Winchester hammer, and a late style M2 pot belly stock. Late style rear sight and barrel band with bayonet lug. It has CMP papers.
I'm not looking to sell or trade my Rockola, but I could trade for another carbine, and I would need quite a bit of cash to boot. His NPM might be worth around $1K and my Rockola maybe $1400-1500???
I'm thinking if I do trade for a similar condition rifle, I should get $300-500 cash to boot. What do you all think?

I own a Rockola (all Rockola parts) that I value the same as you do, also CMP papered. In addition I also have a National Postal Meter carbine that has never gone through rebuild (rear flip up sights, no bayonet barrel band, etc.) not an import, no papers, which I value around $900. Just saying.

I would think your NPM is worth much more than $900. If you don't think so, sell it to me. I will gladly pay that.

The Rockola's are beyond the $2500 mark and command much higher prices in the bidding market. The average M1 Carbine currently in a CMP Rack Grade is floating around $1800+ depending where you want to buy.

Watch the WantToSell ads on the CMP forum and GunBroker to get current prices.
