Flip up scope covers

Anyone know the sizes for the 3-9X40 scope? Also is there a generic brand out there with only black. Butler Creek I believe are black and red.

Thanks. I'll print out the necessary pages to measure my scope. I don't have a micrometer handy as I think it's still in storage somewhere.....lol

I recently looked at some Vortex covers for some incoming 4-12x44 scopes - they look interesting and are all black....I think 40mm would be a #4 for those caps....check to make sure tho....

I am using the vortex caps. They are the best thing on the market right now. IMHO....

I measured the objective and ocular and they are 1-13/16" and 1 -1/2" respectively. Th closest I could find were #26 and #10 respectively. We'll see how close they are. The #10 is exact where the #26 is ever so slightly larger.

Maybe, but, I don't see myself using electrical tape on my greenie scope. Maybe Teflon tape will do the trick. I understand that heating the cover might work but that might be for the opposite problem.

I have an old Bushnell scope that had the objective OD between two sizes. I used black electrical tape....I am a cheapskate!

If you find any non-flip-up in 58mm/2.3" (OD of tube, ID of cap), let me know.

I have old school RCBS powder measures with the green plastic caps, want to put black rubber caps on.

Wierd.... I just called the technical support # from the Butler Creek website.... But answers the phone with Bushnell, how can I help you? Didn't know Butler Creek sold out to Bushnell.

I wanted sizing for their tactical rubber caps, but they don't make any that will fit the Redfield 3-9X40 scope. Standard flip ups are a size 10 and 26 according to the tech.

BTW...Dicks Sporting Goods doesn't carry the Butler Creek caps. Can only be purchased through their website.
