.44 mag Marlin lever for deer hunting

Finally got the pieces together to put my thermal scope on my .44 mag, . . . looks kinda awkward, . . .

Had good enough weather to get it sighted in today.

    All three touching the red were the last three, . . . from 100yds, . . . I'm happy.

    May God bless,
    Dwight

    Where's the suppressor?
Happy is the man who works and plays, and knows not the difference.

Yeah, . . . don't know for sure the vintage, . . . but the barrel and the mag tube both had a light patina of tan on them when I got it years ago. Started to blue it . . . decided against it, . . . figured since it was from Tx, . . . probably had many moons in a saddle scabbard, . . . just didn't want to mess with that heritage.

Re: .44 mag Marlin lever for deer hunting

How about these Marlin 1894's? A friend of mine is looking for a good stout load for his .45 Colt Marlin, looks just like Dwight's.44 magnum. The friend has been looking everywhere for something, he's quite a reloader too, but can't find the information he needs!

I thought if this action can handle a .44 magnum, why not a stout loaded .45 Colt? Anyone have some good info on say a 250 grain hardcast, maybe even heavier?

Have you tried a hundred yards at night on a target ? It would be interesting to see if you could come up with the same results ?
