I make Apologies on Memorial Day ...
I make apologies of thanks every Memorial Day as well meaning people thank me for my service … and I say:
Yes, Air Force here; 27 years, retired - veteran of Vietnam and GW1 - and thanks for the kind words for vets and all who now serve.
But Memorial Day is about my wing man, 1/LT Charles E. Suprenant, shot down on an aerial resupply op at 5th Special Forces Civilian Irregular Defense Group (CIDG) camp at Dak Seang, April 2, 1970. Maybe, no one remembers him today, but me. Angel Flight for Charlie and all those who didn't come home. They are missed.
