    kool Benchmade 781 Anthem

I bought this at the Blade Show in Atlanta on June 7th. It was the only one of this model available at the Benchmade booth.

The knife itself looks a bit unimpressive, but has some interesting design features.

First and foremost, the frame is one-piece titanium.

The two screws you see are for the backplate for the locking mechanism.

The blade moves so easily, if you pull back on the lock such that the bar isn't rubbing against the blade butt, the blade will swing freely. Enough that you can open it by pulling the lock back (like it was a switchblade) and give it a very light flick of the wrist. And it does this with zero slop in the pivot joint. Very well done.

It's only about 1/2" thick overall, which allows it to rest nicely in slacks.

I tried to buy one of the CRKT Rugers but the stores were out of them.
There were a lot worse places than Phu Bai and they weren't all in Viet Nam.

This is one of my 'fishing holes' for "got to have" knives.

I think the +P has a longer blade.
