Inexpensive scopes that provide good results.

I have been experimenting with the Hi-Lux M40 3-9 reproductions for some time now and find that for a sub 200 dollar scope, they work darn good.

Shot this 10 rnd batch a few days ago using the rifle on the left. Bula M21 DMR.

Was a nudge indeed, thanks Hawk. I have 3 of the M40 repros and a few of their other models as well. Clear optics and they have been taking a beating on a couple of my M14 types and keep on ticking.

Best suggestion is to keep an eye on sales. I picked up a couple for 199. ea. Looks like the best deals now are 299.

I feel the same way about Nikon scopes, like the Nikon PROSTAFF P5 2.5-10x42

Quick Focus Eyepiece has a smooth-turn aluminum ring with rubberized eye guard that allows crisp reticle focus and quick target acquisition
Fully Multicoated Optics with multiple layers of anti-reflective coating on all air-to-glass surfaces maximizes light transmission
Spring-Loaded Instant Zero-Reset Turrets for both Windage and Elevation knobs can be reset to "zero" after sighting-in for easy reference when making field adjustments
Nitrogen Purged using nitrogen gas for total reliability against thermal shock and internal fogging.

    Color: Black
    Magnification: 2.5 - 10 x
    Objective Lens Diameter: 42 mm
    Tube Diameter: 1 in
Reticle Focal Plane: Second Focal Plane (SFP)
    Eye Relief: 3.8 - 4 in
    Exit pupil: 4.2 - 16.8 mm
    Adjustment Type: MOA
    Adjustment Click Value: 1/4 MOA
    Adjustment Range: 75 MOA
Field of View, Linear: 10.1 - 40.3 ft at 100 yds
    Parallax: 100 yds
    Lens Material: Glass
    Optical Coating: Fully Multi-Coated
    Weather Resistance: Yes
    Water Resistance Level: Waterproof
    Shockproof: Yes

I like Nikon's, the Buckmaster models work well too. They can be found for less than $120.00.

I'm always glad to hear about these lower priced scopes which work well. Even the $299 range isn't bad for good glass.

I really like the 1st and second generation Vortex PST scopes.
If you shop around you can find 1st gen 2.5-10x32 MILDOT for about 4-450.

They are Leupold clear and daylight bright reticles.
