I used to use different loads when I competed but now I use either M193 or 75 gr match depending on the range.

I wouldn't use M193 for any serious competition shooting; the bullets are not good enough.
There were a lot worse places than Phu Bai and they weren't all in Viet Nam.

Just off the bench, I have shot steel at 600 yards with a Colt HBAR. Using Federal GMM 69 SMK. That was a lot of work. I commend anyone that can do this prone! Good for you!

In rapid fire, in sitting 200 and rapid prone 300, you load your magazines, 2 and 8.

There are much more experienced High Power competitors, (like dave-2) here who could really shed light on there experience on what weight bullets they like for the different ranges we shoot. I know one competitor, who used to use one load at 600 and another for the 200 and 300.
Been away shooting prairie dogs in South Dakota.
Many of the competitors I know use 80 gr bullets at 600. 80's and the 78gr ELD can't be loaded magazine length. The 77's and 75's seem to be the choice for the short range but certainly will make the trip to 600. The correct twist rate has to be a part of the equation also. I've tried everything.
As yet I still have not settled on what is the best.
Maybe because I've had so much success with the '14' and 168's I can't convince myself to like that the LPOS[little piece of $h&t] AR. There are a couple of other new bullet designs that claim to be effective. It still comes down to the nut behind the trigger. Oh,and at 600 yards Mother Nature has to like you too.
