    Some more pics

First 5 shot group at 100 yards from rest with GGG surplus. The 2 covered ones touching the diamond were from 25 yds just to see if I was on the paper.

Second group after 2 clicks down. I think She's pretty accurate with an unknown round count USGI barrel. The high one was me for sure. With my old eyes, the 6" orange is a blur as is the rear aperture, the front post is also a little fuzzy. I just lower the post until I can see some white under the orange, then try to get it back to a 6 o'clock hold. I'm sure I could do even better with an optic. Will be getting new glasses soon which may help some. Maybe one more click down.

Here is her older sister, a CMP special .308. My first Garand and the start of an expensive disease.

    As received from the CMP.

After MUCH sanding to slim up the CMP wood. The grain is amazing with some sapwood showing. MANY coats of BLO, one coat of Tru Oil, knock that down with some 0000 steel wool and then polish with gun stock wax. I didn't do this to the M14 because I wanted it to look as issued, plus it's a really nice USGI stock (NO Tru Oil allowed!!)
