    M1 Carbine mags, 30 round USGI ?

I recently sold a bunch of 15 round M1 carbine mags. One member on a different forum asked me if they were 15 or 30 round mags.
That got me to wondering what companies made USGI 30 round mags?
I did a search and couldn't find a website for this information.
The only ones I have ever seen, which hasn't been very many, were all marked SEY.
    Any information would be appreciated.

The Irwin Pederson Arms Co. had trouble meeting their WWII production requirements and eventually went out of business. Saginaw Gear, which had its own contract, picked up the production of Irwin Pederson M1 Carbine rifles from serial number 1,762,520 to 1,875,039.
This is a Saginaw Gear production magazine marked K-SG on the back and K on the floorplate. The 15 round .30 Carbine magazine is packaged in the original Irwin Pederson Arms Co. military wrapper.

    .30 M1 / M2 Carbine 30 round magazines:
Original USGI early hard back magazines made by Seymor Products, coded SEY. Early hard backs are the one piece construction which later was changed to the cheaper and easier to manufacture split back seen post WWII and throughout Korean War.

Original G.I. blued-steel 30 round magazine marked AYP. Unissued, however it includes minor storage wear and surface rust.

30-routers came with the full-auto conversions. Guess they figured out that 15 rounds disappears pretty quick when you use "go fast" mode.

IIRC the conversion kits were in the 50s, after most of the magazine contracts were dropped postbellum.

I read some years ago that honest to goodness USGI 30ís are so rare that if you have some it was a safe bet that they were fakes.

All my collector buddies only buy and use 15 rounders. If they sell any they never list the 30 as GI.

True, TT. I have seen Dupage Trading in Mesa, AZ selling 30 rounders for $90.00.
