    Question on night scopes

Does anyone have experience with American Tech. Network X Sight II, smart HD 3-14 day/night scopes. I am considering putting one on an LRB M14.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I will have to rethink my options.

    Re: Question on night scopes

FWIW, . . . I went thru the "what to buy" for my coyote hunting.

    I wound up with a Pulsar XQ50, . . . and quite honestly, . . . I love it.

It gives me a chrystal clear image of anything the size of a big rabbit out to well over 100 yds, . . . and deer size out to 400 yds.

Since I'm basically a 200 yd or less shooter, . . . it is perfect for me.

Two things talked me into thermal VS the scope you picked out, . . .

    1. I do not need an illuminator to see what I'm looking at, . . . no matter how dark, . . .

    2. A day/night scope will not detect the thermal image, . . .only the motion image.

There are a couple of good videos out there denoting the difference between night vision (the scope you were looking at) and thermal scopes, . . . this is probably one of the best ones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIhFupwqOU4

My Thermal scope is not 3rd gen, . . . it is probably at best 2 1/2 gen or something thereabouts. But it is still good. I watched a guy fly casting at night at 400 yds away and while I could only see glimpses of the fly line, . . . the rod was clearly visible, . . . as well as his booney hat and his Vietnam style jungle jacket he was wearing.

Thermal scopes also can be used during the day, . . . with zero problems.

Happy hunting, . . . hope you make the right choice for your.

    May God bless,
    Dwight
