    Re: M14 receiver drawing numbers

Can anyone say then whether each of the four companies used the same government Drawing number but different heat lot numbers or numbering system? For example TRW used RN and RB etc and other makers used a different system? Ted you have TRW NM RB and there is the previous reference in this thread to another TRW NM RN. The receiver I am looking at is RN but not TRW on the heal. David

    Re: M14 receiver drawing numbers

There doesn't seem to be any available written correlation between drawing numbers and heat lot numbers. The manufacturers all used the same drawing numbers. There is not a different part number for the NM receiver. Lugged receivers have the same part number as non-lugged receivers as the lugs were welded to standard receivers, although it may be possible that there is a different part number (drawing number) for the lugged receiver assembly. It just would not be marked on the receiver. The part number marked on the TRW NM lugged receiver I have pieces of is 7790189 and the heat lot is RM.

There are pieced receivers out there too. The elephant in the room is getting pretty big. LOL
