No4 Mk1 Long Branch Lee Enfield conversion

    From my brother in-law:

"My most recent completed project is a No4 Mk1 Long Branch Lee Enfield which I converted to a sort of C No7 .22 Lee Enfield. The donor rifle was somewhat worn but usable. I sleeved the barrel to .22 as evidence by the muzzle pic. I use Loctite 620 to secure the sleeve and then solder the muzzle end with 64-40 solder. The rear sight is a Parker Hale PH4 sight that they made for the 1946 Bisley Matches.

I had heard both good and bad about sleeve guns but this one is certainly more accurate than I can shoot with 5 shots at 25 yards inside a quarter"

Did he grind the firing pin at all for a more positive ignition?

Re: No4 Mk1 Long Branch Lee Enfield conversion

I would imagine it was a different firing pin all together, since it was rimfire .
