    The Fickle Finger of Fate

Seeing the other post about the KIA that was up today, . . . reminded me how close it can be.

This is the aftermath of the Victoria BOQ terrorist bombing in Saigon, April 1966.

My BEQ was down the street, . . . 1/2 mile or so.

Had it been our place, . . . instead of killing a Vietnamese maid and wounding a half dozen officers, . . . it would have been between 300 and over a 1000 killed or severely maimed.

Only the hand of Almighty God saved my bacon that day. Thank you, Lord.

    May God bless,
    Dwight

Our EM club at Chu Lai. Not fancy. Just mud brick, bamboo and thatch, but it was home. Before and after photos taken in 1968.

Photo of interior with a Korean show on stage.

Dang terrorist rocket did it in in short order.
