    Bassett scope mount questions

I am seriously considering purchasing a low profile bassett scope mount. Anyone have any issues? I like the idea of easily taking it off and retaining zero yet nervous about stoppages.

All of the different models of the Bassett mount work fine for me.

I like all of mine, they do work as advertised. I have been using them for about 16 years now, never a disappointment.

    Re: Bassett scope mount questions

I've checked out their website, the high mount for use with iron sights, my question is, are you able to get close enough to the rear sight to use them with the scope mounted?

From their picture almost looks like the scope would be in the way. I plan on using a leupold 3x9 40

    Thanks.

Maybe a dumb question as they state its for use with irons.

Or is the picture just for display purposes and not actually set for use?

With the included wrench, it only takes a couple of seconds to remove the mount and scope. With a 3-9, why would you even want to use the irons with the scope attached?

I concur, it's the reason I purchased one. Easy on/off and return to zero, what's not to like?

    Re: Bassett scope mount questions

I understand the quick mount take off. Why advertise the mount can be used with iron sights when you could get the lower mounts which won't let you use the irons, according to them. It serves no benefit, just forget about trying to use the irons with the mount on. Just pull the mount.

    Hope this makes sense.

I think they are saying that it " could " be used that way, but probably not a recommended procedure.
