The first week of January 1966 Cpl. Roberts of Survey Section. Hq. 3/12 stepped in a pungy trap. He was gone about three weeks getting over the infections to his leg. Yes, he was awarded a Purple Heart for the wound. For some reason the official reports that day did not mention the wound.
The only Woodstock I saw in 1969 was on my M14

There were other traps and (IED's) that were used, that was not mentioned, besides the Malayan whips and doors and punji traps.
Like empty L.A.W. tubes filled with activated grenades that swung unseen over head arcing its payload down a well traveled path, or a unexploded 5,000 bomb, that they hauled near a well beaten trail, that was set up to electrically detonate from a far.
