Just traded into a NIB OOW M1918A3 BAR. Two magazines loaded, will hit the range during the week. Its a heavy gun - but you all know that!

I also (in addition to some cash) got this Colt Single Action Army, chambered in .44 Russian and .44 Special:

Thanks Hawk! I’ll probably be the envy of all the boys and girls at the range this week!

        Sweet !

Of course the BAR is everyone's favorite and so fun to shoot ! Got to rip off a few mags in I.T.R. for familiarization right before Nam.

Son of a gun, me too. Loved the thing then, now I would have to hire someone to carry it.

                  When he lays down on the job . . . I'll pick it up . . .

I was BAR man on our landing party on my last ship . . . didn't have to use it . . . but I planned on it being worthwhile if I did have to.

                  May God bless,

Love the BAR and the Colt.

Knew a guy with a FFL manufacturing license. He had a club with a 300 yard range. He had a lot of class III stuff and if you bought his ammo, he'd let you shoot it.

I put 3 mags thru his BAR off the bipod. That was sweet. Think it was the 2nd model and had the slower full auto rate.
“After all is said and done, successful rifle shooting on the range is nothing more than first finding a rifle and lot of ammunition which will do precisely the same thing shot after shot, and then developing the same skill in the rifleman.” ~ Capt. E. C. Crossman (The Book of the Springfield)

I believe the Marine had their BAR's converted to fire at a slower rate (450 rounds pm) then the other service branches.
