    New outdoor cooking season

Well, the 2022 outdoor cooking season is upon a notable part of our fantastic country, so I'd like to encourage all members to submit their traditional/new recopies in order that others might try them out. I must admit that I'm not a very good "griller', and I tend to overcook everything on the grill, so I really like to see what more accomplished folks are doing, and maybe I can actually learn something !!!

    Yakitori.....(skewered Chicken with Teriyaki sauce),

Cut your chicken in a size that works well on whatever skewers you have. You can also add some cubed pineapple.

    Sauce:
    1/2 cup Sake
1/2 cup Mirin (cooking rice wine)
    1/2 cup soy sauce
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 tbs minced garlic
    Cornstarch

Put Sake, Mirin, soy sauce and sugar in small pot. Heat on medium stirring as you go until sugar is dissolved. Add minced garlic.

Take aprox 1 tbs of corn starch and dissolve it in 1 tbs water. Pour into sauce. Turn up the heat to a low boil. Low boil until sauce thickens to a thick mixture.

Skewer the chicken (and pineapple). Drizzle or brush with sauce. (I completely cover mine) Put on grill. Turning occasionally. Until chicken is cooked through.

If you have a Oriental grocery near by, purchase some 7 spice powder. Sprinkle spice powder on and enjoy.

You could use store bought Teriyaki sauce, but, it will taste better if you make it yourself.

For those of you who like grilled salmon, this works well with Salmon.

If you like a bit of crunch, you can sprinkle some sesame seeds on before eating.

    Uishii desu! (It's delicious)

Nothing very special here. We grill outside 12 mos of they year. Either NY strip steaks or porterhouse. Pretty boring, but it is what it is.

I love duck! I'll take that over chicken or turkey any day.

I see that nearly empty bottle of Tabasco.
    Good man! :)

With my rudimentary cooking (or grilling) skills tobacco is a necessity and a godsend🦊
