I was out yesterday cruising the woods looking for a spring bear. It's the last week of the season. Didn't see hardly any sign around but saw some elk tracks in the mud and 1 mule deer doe and a rock chuck. So guess I'll run a patch of clp through the bore of the 06 and put away til next season.

Sometimes the walk through the woods can be the most enjoyable part of the hunt.

So yesterday my buddy was supposed to go back to the Dr up north. So we left and got about 50 miles up the rd when the Dr called and canceled the appointment.
Not good but better than being 180 miles up and finding out the appointment was canceled. So he asked me if I new where this one Sheep guzzler was located out there since we were within striking distance. I said yep just head south for about 3 miles and we'll takeoff to the north. So after about 5 miles in 4 wheel drive we pulled up to check it out. It had water in the drinker but wasn't flowing. So dug up the valve and float system and checked it. I cycled the float a couple of times and started getting water to the drinker. Going to have to go back out and check 2 more of them that the road just didn't look friendly to a 4 wheel drive pickup.
We'll load up some tools and water in my Side by Side next week and check them out for Fish & Game dept. This is about the only volunteer work I like. Gets me outdoors and helps the critters.
