Windsor, just a little friendly advice on the oak trees, scrape off the grass down to bare ground and apply triple 13 or 19 fertilizer, at least to the outer circumference of the branches of the trees. Work it in and keep it moist, will likely result in good growth.

Been loading my jeep for my trip up to the northern hacienda tomorrow morning. Will stop in and visit with Art (nf1e) and get some shooting in on the way. Always a great time! Doesn't look like I can expect any help loadin the car from Kodiak, our Husky/Malamute/Border Collie mix.

I'll give that a try, thanks!
I already threw down "tree rings" and mulch to keep the grass somewhat at bay. I really did this to keep the lawn crews from just blindly moving over the regrowth, but it helps with the grass as well.
I did some checking with local box stores and Tru Value, looks like 13-13-13 is a hot commodity right now. I'll check a local nursery tomorrow morning.

Whenever I see a pet sleeping like a human, for some reason it makes me smile. I know it's silly, but I can't help wondering if they learned it from watching us.... When I worked late, our little Min-Pin would climb into the bed, crawl under the blanket and lay next to my unknowing sleeping wife. That little dog would be on her back, head on her pillow, front paws fold over the edge of the blanket, all tucked in, dead asleep. Bascially taking my place and also watching out for her. Hilarious to see.
The older I get, the more I realize "life in prison" is not that much of a deterrent.

I just received me a package from Fed EX which I missed yesterday and finally got me another of 'expensive' CCI LR Br primers 1000 ct and some copper coated lead 158gr
.357 .dia bullets to try my revolver on the 'under 6" ' game here one of these days.

I think my Kodiak thinks he's human. When he really wants something he talks to us. He knows that supper time is a little after 1900. He's also a big tease. He'll bring you a toy as if he wants you to take it from him and jumps away as soon as you reach for it. When the kids are off to school in the morning, he'll jump up on my bed and go to sleep next to me. He's definitely a pack dog and we are his pack.

Got a healthy list of things to get done today, so I'll be seeing how many of those I can knock out.
I had a busy Saturday last weekend and managed to not get a single one of them done. A couple have been added to the list during the week so it's time to "get with it."

For the past two weeks I've been busy at work on a job that requires a 6' platform ladder and me going up and down and carrying that heavy sumbitch around for 8 hours straight. 40+ hours a week. My co-worker and I are the same age and in the past we've commented, "I may look 61 years old, but I don't feel 61 years old, I still feel like I'm 15 !!"
These past two weekends I damn sure do feel 61 years old. I just sit and watch TV on Saturday and Sunday while playing with some type of firearm. Come Monday morning my back has relaxed; no longer tight.
I have some Honey-do's pending, yeah, they'll still be there after I finish this work project.
