    Father's Day AQT's

Father's Day, it was a good day to shoot some AQT's. Shooting my number 1 Appleseed rifle, the Tactical Solutions custom, I shot a 248 and a 249, shot and timed per the rules.

Prone and slung up no doubt? Great shooting as always John!

Standing on top, 2 minutes, sitting in the second stage, from standing to sitting in 55 seconds with magazine change, third stage standing to prone in 65 seconds with magazine change, bottom is slow fire prone, 5 minutes. Targets from top to bottom represent 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards. It’s a good challenge.

Are you allowed optics at an Appleseed (ACOG) or is it purely irons? I have two weeks of leave to burn and I’m serious lot considering attending one.

Optics and irons are allowed. I used to use only irons, but with my eyesight going, scopes have kept me shooting.

Jim, Appleseed is strong in Tennessee, with quite a few events each year, reduced course and the full known Distance. You would like it, all shooting with sling.

My son and I shot in Manchester, on Labor Day 2016 on Arnold Air Force Base. Excellent range!

    Re: Father's Day AQT's

Speaking of questions . . . does any of the Appleseed events run thru the week down there?

What few we have here are always on the weekend . . . both Saturday and Sunday . . .

I won't break a Sunday service for a shooting event . . . would love to shoot one once though.

    May God bless,
