I agree.... Imagine what the numbers must be to reach 100% with multiple claims.

Exactly, I found out first hand how idiotic this system works, I've tried to explain it to others, we all just end up amazed by stupidity!

Re: VA Math explained
My numbers added up to something like 150%, but, with VA math only came out to 90% but, with unemployability went to 100% rate. Luckily, mine is permanent so they can't reduce it.

Re: VA Math explained
...this is (and never has been) math because mathematical principles follow logic. This is gov't bureaucracy at its worst, designed to confuse, obfuscate, and conceal.

Re: VA Math explained
It’s not math! It a diabolical tool devised by Federal Bean Counters to keep costs down. The trouble is - The White House and the military cause an ever increasing number of disabled vets with more severe disabilities!
A bit of VA Trivia: What’s the one disability, that untreated will cause death that the VA won’t rate and pay? A hint - in California you can get State Disability for it. Oh, however the VA will hospitalize and treat you for free.
ALCOHOLISM.
So after 30 years of active duty when I retired in 2001 I filed a claim with a myriad of ailments. The DAV Rep at the VA Outpatient Clinic in Columbus, OH went through both my Navy and Coast Guard Medical records with a fine toothed comb. I don’t know how the other reps would have been; it was around lunch time; w offices were closed for lunch; one rep was on a personal call, with his door open. He saw me and ignored me; leaving the DAV Rep to invite me, offer me some coffee, and after I signed a document giving him (DAV) the power to represent me he went to work…. The key to filing a claim then was to do it in the 1st year after separation - a higher processing priority.
I didn’t understand the VA math either; but my initial rating was 80%. A discectomy and fusion got me temporary 100% but back down to 80% permanent. I had knee replacement surgery, first the right (Claimed) then the left; temporary 100%, and a bump to 90% permanent. In 2014 I had a significant heart attack - (I had more then a few cardiac issues the last 10 years I was on AD) permanent and total 100%. Forced into retirement again after the heart attack I am a quadruple dipper - between military retirement (1/2 - the ex gets the other 1/2), VA Disability, Social Security, and CBP Annuity. It pays the bills but the current administrations is doing their best to hurt me!
