Compass Lake Engineering has a good method on the information page of their website. 100 rounds, being cleaned with JB bore paste every 20.

As far as break in of a barrel, I've never done that before, until recently. My custom built Winchester M70 .308 with heavy Kreiger, I decided to go ahead and try a break in method with her. I've shot some good groups, five at a time, then clean, shoot, repeat. Just the other night, I see this video, in that Mr. Kreiger himself is being interviewed about what he thinks about breaking in his barrels. He said, I suppose it wouldn't hurt, but not necessary. Right then, I decided to forget the break in and just shoot, clean as normal. The most I will shoot this rifle, is in a 66 round MRP match at 600. Three stages of fire, 2 sighters, then 20 rounds for record in 20 minutes.

Common thought is 200 without cleaning to polish a chrome lined tube, then clean. Accuracy should start to settle in around 100.
Your Saint is Chrome Vandium and nitride treated. I would break it in for ACOG accuracy the same as chromelined. If you wanted you could do clean after 5 for 30 rounds or so.
For "precision" shooting shoot 1 then clean for 10. Then switch to 3 then clean for 3. Then groups of 5 then clean for 3.

I have had fantastic results with the above.

As far as your new rifle, check the flash hider for proper torque, check barrel nut for same. Check different ammo. Is your Saint a freefloated or conventional handguard model?

Start with a clean barrel, clean barrel between ammo switches.

Thanks for the advice! It’s free floated.

Make sure the gas block doesn’t make contact with the FF tube. If slung, make sure the forearm flexes minimal…

I am going to try different ammo, but was wondering what everyone was thinking?
    Norma is excellent Ammo!

So I cleaned the rifle and shot it again. it’s still all over the place.

The round count is 140 now and it’s still not performing how I would like. Any recommendations?

Disregard the last photo. It’s a duplicate that won’t delete.

I would try some different ammo, if it continues to be this inaccurate, I would call Springfield, they'll take care of it.
