Looking good LDO6490... Have you tried a rear bag?

Re: AR-15 shooting all over
I also shoot prone unsupported and geez I need to work on that. My problem was finding a steady comfortable position where the Sights are steady. It seemed to move around much.
My grip has me with my forward hand holding the magazine well. Should a change? Any tips?

I got all ten hits. The 3 shots on the top right is from someone who accidentally shot at my target. All of my hits are on the bottom.

No. I have one but I like the little bit of challenge not using the bag.

Comfortable needs to be of secondary importance if your goal is shooting tight groups without sandbags and a bench. Tied up with a sling is not really comfortable. And you WILL need a sling to reduce your groups size. It doesn't need to be a real expensive one; the GI cotton sling will work well, at least for starters. And an elbow pad for your sling arm will help with the comfort. This pic gives a good view of how the sling is routed:

It needs to be adjusted tight enough to hold the rifle into the shoulder but not so tight you can't get the butt into your shoulder.
There were a lot worse places than Phu Bai and they weren't all in Viet Nam.
