Just about every state in the old Confederacy does great work with pork ribs since pigs were easier to manage than cattle in small farm lots.

I agree with you on everything else, though.

You could probably find a place in Memphis. That's what, a 2-2.5hr drive away?

You have to go to Philly for "real" one. The one thing i missed while on IOF 1 was a plain Philly Cheese Steak and a liter bottle of Frank's Orange soda.

That's about it, I probably won't go that far for a sandwich, but maybe in Jonesboro, which is only one hour away!

I did the very same thing on my recent trip back home; took some bagels and Kaiser rolls back with us. Our plan was to let some Texas friends try them, but we got selfish and kept them all for ourselves.

I always loved a buttered Kaiser and a good cup o' Joe for a quickie breakfast. When I ate bagels, they were never toasted, just sliced in half and, quite literally, and 1.5" of cream cheese. Kosher deli style. No spreading thin, no toasting then butter or (yech) margarine, (which should be illegal on bagels by the way; fake butter). And never, never NEVER - avocado.
The older I get, the more I realize "life in prison" is not that much of a deterrent.

I agree with the buttered kaiser roll.....no coffee for me though. Everything bagel with cream cheese is probably my favorite. If no cream cheese, real butter will do, but, I'd rather have it with cream cheese.
