Putting together an AR-10 type rifle.

Got the bug after digging out some of my ARs. I did have an Armalite AR-10 years ago, but my son the Marine thought he needed it more than me.
So, after a very small amount of research, I decided on using Aero Precision components. Picked up a complete Aero M-5 lower and added, this morning, an ELF 2.5 - 4lb match trigger with a flat blade. Set the trigger right at 3lbs to agree with my other ARs which mostly have Timney match 3lbs installed. Got a bunch of .308 Pmags and an Aero 20" complete upper due in Tuesday. Whatta Hobby!

Should be a fine rifle, I'm looking forward to a range report!

Love the engraving on that! Go and no-go is a new one. I did see someone made "pew"...."pew pew"...and "no pew"
My first experience with a ar10 was last week helping a friend put the parts into his aero 80. A few things threw me off a little, some of the detents had a different configuration than the 15's that I'm use to and the bolt release attached with a screw as apposed to a pin. Same thing...just different. It all went together well until we realized he used the wrong bit to drill out the bolt release plunger hole. Easy enough to fix, but certainly not the usual 20 minute assembly.

Never tried an 80% anything. Heck, with the AR field, I have enough trouble with the different nomenclature let alone doing damage that might be permanent.

Believe me it would be a cake walk for you !
Think of all the engraving you could do, plus having a serial number of 1 !
