30-06 Load development with new powder
I started some load development with Ramshot Big Game powder for 30-06 this week. My friends at the Vets Shooting Center gave me a partial can to try out. This powder can help achieve more velocity with heavier bullets, without increase in pressure, also temperature stable. Except for one badly shot target, due to me not concentrating, all groups have been sub MOA and this one is the best so far. Five rounds in a .475 inch group. 175 SMK's, not a weenie load for sure. Rifle is my custom built Remington 700, with 28 inch Kreiger barrel. I'm out of the powder now, will probably buy an 8 pound jug from Midwayusa.

Is this powder usable for an M1 Garand? Is the relative burning rate within the range of "safe use" for a Garand using 147 - 155 gr. projectiles ? Thanks.

No, I didn't see any load with this powder suitable for an M1. I would stick with IMR 4064 and IMR 4895 for an M1. What I gather so far, this powder is meant for bolt actions.
