Interesting Ruger 10/22
This is from IV8888. These guys have been around for quite a while.
I have to say there is way more stuff than I realized and lots of knowledge out there.
Let's just say, live and learn.
Anyway here is something you may enjoy.

IDF.com...who cares? A silent assination weapon.
Want to know what an old time US manfactured .22 rimfire caliber rifle can do?
Check out what my wife an do at 50 yards from prone with a bipod, shooting a Remington Model 40X, off a bipod.
I'd be very surprised if anyone can come close.

Here is is: The top two bulls are sighters and do not count for score. The bottom four bulls are 5 shots each and count for score. This target was a 200-19X. I suspect there is not a man on this forum who could out shoot her in this format.
Best regards
Jim
If you need it, it can provide the diameters of the 10 and X-rings.
Prove me wrong boys.
Best regards
Jim

Why I will always love older rifles. I have been telling people for a long time that women shoot better than men.
In high school we had 3 girls as our anchors on the varsity rifle team. They seem to get a deer almost every year too.
The aren't bad on the eyes either.

Tell you what my friend, When I linked up with my future wife she had zero knowledge of shooting much less marksmanship. I was hard into service rifle competition at that time. She followed me around for one season and decided she wanted to be a competitor. Well I hooked her up with a friend at S.A.Inc and he sold her an M1A NM rifle. I coached her and 2 years later she won the Missouri Womens Service Rifle Title. That was shooting that M1ANM Rifle. The hands down favorite lady was shooing a mouse gun.
I'll flat guarantee you, she is a hard holder. (Now she has a NRA Master Card in Smallbore Prone F-Class). That is shooting a a 1963 model Remington 40X with the original barrel.
Only brag I have anymore is being a good coach. Fact is the wife is a better shot. Then again I am a prone sling shooter. She shoots prone with a bipod. If she shot with a sling I'd whoop her butt.
Oh well.
Jim

Re: Interesting Ruger 10/22
I see your point but there is one factor that you missed. The women on my rifle team including my wife of 27 years have had no formal training and all did phenomenal at 25, 50 and 100 yards with stationary targets.
Now imagine if they had formal training. I will also mention that men are men and women are women. Strength wise a 13 year old boy can out power a 25 year old woman with an athletic background. Main reason why the Olympics is Man vs Man with Woman vs Woman. Man vs woman would be a blood bath. Same with boxing. A featherweight vs super heavyweight???
I myself do not have or want any fancy awards for shooting stationary targets. Coyotes, rabbits, fox, raccoons, at 200 plus yards on a farm is the reward.
I am happy your wife is shooting and can shoot very well, even better than I can.
That said it's "We the People" against all enemies both foreign and domestic, not each other.
I meant no ill will against how well your wife can shoot a real American made rifle or you Jim and am very happy she is trained with firearms and not an easy victim for criminals/predators.
Only made a point that some women are naturals, which is a known fact. No one really knows why. Perhaps it's the mans ego that they are missing.
With the threat of WWIII, Balloons, Politician's running the country down, Train wrecks and the obvious signs of Civil War I think we can agree that everyone 2A stand together.
The one thing I tell my wife when she has a bad day on the farm or at a range, "JUST HIT THE TARGET, EXTINGUISH THE TREAT!!!!" Doesn't matter if you hit the bullseye as long as you are alive to take the next threat.

You make valid points, and I will not argue. Seems we have common ground on a well trained woman shooter and stationary targets. I can flat guarantee I would not want Mary shooting at me when I was traipsing thru the woods.
Best regards
Jim

There's the old girl with her antique Remington 40X.

It's always a beautiful to see women holding a rifle with a smile on their face.
She looks very proud.
