I went out this morning to give this another try but no go for me! Shot my last 50 reloads up on 5 targets and nothing better than 7"...
So I spent the day playing with my other BlackFeather on the Dirty Birds

Went out again today and shot 40rds with my .45ACP to try to stay in shape here but did not make the club yet again! Target number 4 was not picture worthy.
Here is what I shot with no hiccups on my reloads at all today @ 1.236.

Well, with my Midway USA birthday discount I decided to buy an AR upper in 5.7x28. While I was at it, I added on an extra 50 round magazine and 500 rounds of American Eagle 40gr fmj. I put it onto a Rock River lower and hope to get out and sight in and shoot it soon. That being said, I've been intrigued by the new S&W M&P 5.7 pistol with its gas operated rotary bolt system and was able to locate and pick one up yesterday. Since I had ammo on hand, I managed to shoot three rounds this afternoon. The gun has an excellent trigger, a bit light and "whippy" and the recoil is almost as light as shooting a target 22 LR. First ten rounds I threw a high flyer (as well as a couple low left and right) for a 7-1/2. Second ten was better, but a shot pulled right made it a 6-1/4. I bore down a bit and managed a qualifying 5-1/4 for the third and final attempt.

Nice going blkgunlvr !
Heard good things about that caliber !
Thank you. I needed another caliber in my "larder" like I need a third nipple! I've heard good and bad about the 5.7 (such as: "all the performance of 22 magnum and expense of center fire!") and FN has been trying to sell it for military contract for some time. It certainly isn't cheap, and supposedly difficult to reload if fired in a blowback action (like the ULT AR upper and most handguns). The new M&P has a barrel inside an outer sleeve with a gas port near the muzzle that recoils under gas pressure to unlock a rotary bolt which I found too ingenious to pass up. The barrel sleeve is non-recoiling and threaded 1/2-28 so it doesn't require a Filson decoupling device and I will also try a couple of suppressors on it.

The ULT AR57 upper fits on any AR-15 lower (although its blowback action has a dedicated recoil buffer) top feeds from a 50 round P90 magazine and bottom ejects out the mag well.
