I'm starting to "experiment" with handgun optics. This one worked out much better for me than the 10mm Glock 40. I put this Leupold deltapoint micro on my first Gen Glock 21. Sighted it in at 15 yards and moved back to 25. Shot another 4-1/4 with Black Hills steel-cased 185gr jhps (I'm on the last box of a case of that ammo and it has been an excellent performer). I like this sight very much and it gets points for staying on the gun (so far). It's a 3.5 moa dot (camera makes it look larger in the photo. It sits right on top of the front blade when on, acts like a ghost ring when off and won't interfere with a holster or snag for EDC.

Thanks John. So far, with only two red dots mounted (the Holosun on the Smith 5.7 and this new deltapoint) and one self-demounted. I'm not certain if I am going to go much further until I get some eye surgery. The optic is easier to use than irons, but that little dot sure quivers around a lot during slow fire! The Leupold is the best so far.

The red dot moves a lot for me on the pistols too, but I like ‘em! I had the same problem with a scope on an M14 when slinged up, but I’m pretty much used to it now.
I used blue lock tight on mine, they haven’t got loose, since I remounted with it.
There was a blob of blue locktite on the RMR screws when I mounted it. Problem is the MOS mounting plate is only about 1/8 inch thick (you can see the plate in place on the G40 in the photo) and the screws only have a few threads of engagement. With magnum recoil and a long slide travel, I think I will just stick with the adjustable irons since it shoots to them pretty well.

This is all I could muster this morning with my .45ACP... STILL have my work cut out for me!

Shot my newest Gat today. Just picked up this 10mm Glock 40 yesterday. It is a gen4, and it came with 3 15-round magazines, top cut for optic with 4 factory MOS baseplates. I started with the irons shooting some 185gr plated hp reloads and the first ten rounds through the gun showed good out-of-box sighting with a high left flyer turning a 5 inch group into a 7. Switching to some other reloads with 165gr plated hps, I shot this 4-1/4 with at least 4 or 5 one-holing at 11 o'clock and looks like a possible double in the black at 1 o'clock. I mounted a NIB Trijicon RMR red dot and started working on sight-in at 15 yds so I wouldn't shoot my dryer or door frame. Moved back to 25 as it was getting close and on the 15th sighting shot the damn red dot flew off and whacked me in the forehead!! I guess I will just stick with the irons for now! The trigger is not bad for stock Glock, the long sight radius is nice and the heavy slide really dampens the magnum recoil.

I still think it's good shooting! A pistol instructor I was speaking to on Thursday told me he doubts he could even get all rounds on a pie plate at 25. He instructs for USPSA and also teaches self defense classes. Most of his shooting is within 15 yards, that goes for his classes too. A lot of fast shooting emphasizing double taps, etc.
