Screwdriver Set
Taking all your years experience and seeing what was good an what was not so good.
What screwdriver set would you buy for working on firearms?

Re: Screwdriver Set
If you're buying new, start with one of these:

Would help to get one of these, too:

You can generally find them at Amazon or MidwayUSA for a fair amount cheaper.

Re: Screwdriver Set
I probably should buy one of those sets, I have a hodgpodge of screwdrivers and other tools collected over the many years.

Definitely get the Fat Wrench. I've had mine for several years, worth every penny.

Re: Screwdriver Set
Fixit sticks and an ICON mini ratchet set from Harbor Freight....
Serious!!! I have used that ICON set so much that I bought 5 of them. One in the Jeep, one in the Class C, one in the range bag with the aforementioned Fixit Sticks, and 2 in the large tool boxes.
Dem beaches are 45.00 a piece and I bought 5, will probably add one more to my bug out bag.

Re: Screwdriver Set
I have had a fat wrench for years, my only issue with the Wheeler bit sets is that they come from China
I had a Chapman set that somebody thought they needed more than i did, i was happy with it just wondering if there is something better..

Re: Screwdriver Set
When I was a wee lad, my Dad bought a set of screwdrivers and announced, "These screwdrivers are for my rifles ONLY. They were expensive. No one is to use them on anything else !!". We were all like, "Calm down, Dad....".
One day while breaking down my .22, I was using a standard old Craftsman flat head. My Dad got on my butt. "Use the gunsmithing screwdrivers, that's what I bought them for.". Of course being a teenager that knows everything, I said, "A screwdriver is a screwdriver.". Then he showed me the differences in the tips. There is a difference. I learned something that day. And my .22 still has little burrs in the screw slot from that Craftsman...
I still have my Dad's tools, but I have no idea what brand they are, they are from the 70's, I know that much.
The older I get, the more I realize "life in prison" is not that much of a deterrent.

Re: Screwdriver Set
I'm A Chapman fan here, have two sets, one prolly 40 years old and another more expanded set gifted by a friend last year.
Made in USA which is a good thing nowadays. https://chapmanmfg.com/
It's covered 95% of my things gunny and IIRC they're guaranteed for life.
