Re: They call me "Doc"
That brought tears to my eyes. Anyone that has been in combat and asked by another, that had been wounded, if they are going to live knows what I am talking about. Even worse for me was a fellow that knew he was going to die and asked us to end it for him, which of course we did not. Just hurts even now after 56 years.

I wasn't in combat, but, I have helped rescue people from a boat explosion as well as car accidents and there are some pain that doesn't go away. On Christmas leave after boot camp, I was on my way home from dropping off my wife (then girlfriend) when I came upon an accident. Mustang Mock 1 was racing another when the driver lost control and hit a tree broadside. Car was split in two and a friend I went to high school with who was driving went with the rear of the car. I watched as he took his last breath. behind his seat was another kid who also died. The passenger in the front who didn't have a seat belt on was laying in the middle of the road. My friends father showed up. I stopped him before he was able to see his son. I told him that he didn't want to remember his son that way and consoled him while they removed his body.
Some pain doesn't go away.....

No sir, some pain never heals
Thanks for posting 9th, I listen to Aaron Lewis frequently so I have heard the song before but I still appreciate it and reflect on past friends and memories when I hear this song....

Re: They call me "Doc"
It’s a brotherhood and love people will never know unless they served. When stuff goes down…people find comfort that they are not alone. I can’t describe why but it’s very comforting to know someone is there during difficult situations. Something as simple as saying everything will be ok goes a long way. Talking about going home is pretty comforting too.

I've never heard that song before, not a country fan, but the lyrics were perfect in describing the actions in the video. The lyric that got me ? "When he asks if I'm gonna make it and I gotta lie". Wow.
The older I get, the more I realize "life in prison" is not that much of a deterrent.
