What a month we had this September, with a record number of 6 shooters competing in the challenge, and to add to that, they all made it under 6" and made the club. Top honor's again go to blkgunlvr for his 2 1/8 " ten shot offhand group from 25yds.
When 4570 and I set this up, we had no idea it would be this popular and has become one of the most sought out shooting events on this board.
We welcome all to grab that old dusty pistol you have on the shelf and join us, if nothing else just to improve your marksmanship. Who knows, that pistol just might save your life one day !
For those interested, it's a ten round, twenty-five yard centerfire offhand pistol, or revolver challenge.
Any target of your choice, we go by group size only ! To enter you must be able to post a picture of your target with a tape measure showing the extreme spread of your group. (shoot as many targets as you want)
Object, try to get under six inches with ten rounds and be a member of the Under 6 October Club !
*Distinguished Pistol Shooter, is a member who has gone under six three months in a row.
Well, I will kick off the month with my latest "acquisition", a 9mm S&W M&P Shield Plus. Picked this gun up yesterday and shot the first ten rounds into a non-impressive 10 inches that afternoon. Decided to give it another go this morning and put the second ten rounds of Blazer Brass 115 gr FMJ down the pipe into a qualifying 5-5/8. Not a target pistol by any means, but a Performance Center with a really nice trigger and I was able to make it work with the short sight radius and irons.

Thanks Van. I actually screwed up and thought this was going to be a companion piece for the MPC, but that's actually the M&P M2.0! But I guess it's a keeper anyways!

So, the trigger is pretty nice? I've been thinking about a S&W M&P 2.0.
Thanks John. The Performance Center option includes a trigger upgrade that is excellent for being striker-fired. As a matter of fact, I just ordered up an M&P Performance Center M2.0 (the correct model to pair with the MPC!) and it will be here by the 10th. Whatta hobby!

I'm looking forward to you shooting and what you think of it!
Just picked up a "special order" from Palmetto State Armory. Not your usual Gen5 Glock 19, but I just couldn't resist. Put on a bit of lube and decided to try for under six. Using Blazer Brass 115 gr fmj, first pass was a shaky 7-3/4. Tried to bear down on the second pass and one twitched right and one milked low resulted in 6-1/4. Final pass managed to just barely qualify at 5-7/8. Not a fan of the OEM trigger, already have an Apex upgrade and a ghost connector on order.
