Re: White Lithium Grease
Another vote for Lubriplate. Use it on M1, M14, and all semi handguns.
If it slides, grease it. Rotates, oil it.

Re: White Lithium Grease
Lubriplate was selected for the M1 because it didn't come off in heavy rain, not because it was a great lubricant. So if heavy rain weather performance is needed, use Lubriplate. Although I have shot a rifle match in the rain with an M1 (something I will not do again as it requires disassembly of the rear sight to get the water out of the cavity,) keeping M1's and their relatives out of the rain is now my plan unless things get out of hand. Now I use moly bearing grease for that application.

I use a wheel bearing grease as well for my M14's but do not grease them often

I've been using the same container of Mobil One synthetic wheel bearing grease for several years now. I'll have to will it to some body for sure. It does work good though.

I guess I'm the odd cheap ass here
I either use GAA or Lucas red wheel bearing grease depending on whether I am in the shop or in the house.
One thing I did learn is no matter what you grease with,if you use more than you need , you wear it

Lubriplate was dropped from my inventory decades ago. My personal preference is Penzoil high temp red bearing grease. Same stuff that is in Shooter's grease injectors. Whatta Hobby!

Re: White Lithium Grease
I'm not sure what variety of grease it is, but several years back I bought some surplus Garand butt stock oilers, and they had grease in them from whenever. Stuff was clean, still soft and I used it. No problems whatsoever. That old stuff being all gone now, Lubriplate has replaced it and works fine too.

Re: White Lithium Grease
Your Pennzoil red grease looks an awful lot like Mobile 1 grease.
I'll bet Vaseline would work just fine, but I use whatever that brown yuck in my old decades-old wheel bearing grease can it. It works fine. Not sure it really matters that much. It sure doesn't to me.
