Since June/July we have been shooting a fun challenge for the increasingly popular pistol caliber carbines. October saw Blkgunlvr and 4570govt post qualifying scores, but 4570govt continues to demonstrate his rifleman skills with consistent under three inch groups and an outstanding two inch one for the best of the month!
The challenge is open to any center-fire pistol caliber carbine or conversion (and this includes those western lever guns and M1 carbines) any target, any sights ten rounds shot offhand at 25 yards. Five inches or less group size is the only qualification necessary with a photo showing largest dimension with a tape or ruler. Enter as many times as you like and break out the carbines for a fun challenge!

I'll start the month off with an "experiment!" When considering the One-Shot I knew that I wouldn't want to use it in the under six inch handgun challenge, but wondered if it might be used with "other" or AR-15 handguns. Short answer, due to the One-Shot design for reciprocating slide pistols, it is not a good fit for an AR. However, it does mate up pretty well with the Keltec P50. Although the P50 is a pistol, I consider it a PCC if using the One-Shot, so I shot this 3-1/8 with Fiocchi 40 gr fmj as an entry in this month's PCC challenge.

While I was playing around with 9mm and the Echelon out the back door, I decided to shoot a pass with the S&W MPC. Shot a single pass with Blazer 115 gr fmj into 2-1/4.

I am done with this year's deer season out here and picked up my old M1 Carbine from the gunsmith I use out here so hope to start playing here...
He cleaned it and replaced all the springs in it for me at no charge while I was out deer hunting.

Took it out this morning and function fired it with 20rds of my reloads. No issues at all other than hitting my target! Will load more ammo.

Both of my M1 carbines shoot fine for the 25 yard challenge. But I did see that the EFM that I shot earlier this month did perforate the satellite dish in my improved shooting berm with 110 gr fmj (still a good amount of dirt behind the dish to stop the bullets).
