    Good starter .22 for Appleseed

I signed my wife up for the Lady Seed in March. I don?t have a .22 rifle. I was wondering what would be a good starter .22 for her for the event? I?m not looking for anything ?Gucci? or expensive..just something that would serve her well at the event.

The Ruger 10/22 is the most used .22 rimfire in Appleseed, usually the majority of the rifles on the 25 meter events are Ruger 10/22's.

Somewhere out there on the innerwebz is a build sheet to make a Ruger 10/22 an "Appleseed rifle".

A lot of it makes it overall useful, like extended mag release, extended bolt handle, etc.

The Ruger 10/22 hands down. I have one and it shoots sub-1 in groups. It is capable of shooting 1/4 inch shots consistently. Art is my witness.
